Charles Bayer
Founder & Managing Partner
Charles founded Ursidae Capital to acquire and build enduring businesses in the lower middle market, partnering with founders and owners approaching retirement to provide succession and stewardship. Across 15 years in private equity and investment banking, he has sourced, invested in, and operated alongside a wide range of businesses, working closely with management teams across dozens of portfolio companies as a director or board observer.
Prior to founding Ursidae, Charles was a Vice President at Corinthian Capital Group and at AMERRA Capital Management. He began his investing career at L Catterton, and earlier worked in investment banking at Deutsche Bank and Citigroup.
Charles holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with majors in Finance and Real Estate, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Boston College, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Physics. He has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School.
